Did You Know?

The Wine Place is licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
(AGCO) and must strictly adhere to the rules and regulations as set forth when
operating a ‘Ferment on Premise’ licence.

As per the AGCO, customers making wine in our store are required to establish the ownership of their grape juice (through payment), initiate the start of fermentation (adding yeast to the grape juice) and conclude the wine making process by personally bottling their wine.

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is the sole legal authority to handle or sell alcohol to the public in Ontario.

When your grape juice ferments into wine (alcohol), owned by you throughout the process, only you have the legal authority to transfer your wine into bottles. The Wine Place merely acts as a venue for you to make wine. Actions to the contrary during a random AGCO inspection could compromise our licence.

We ask for your co-operation in this matter.
